This is Not The End

As I write there are broken "cease fires" that never happened.  Dozens of dead civilians and a growing mass of people confused over the latest version of hostility in the middle east.
Every time there's a new explosion in or surrounding Israel people ask the same question: "Don't you think this is a sign of the end times?"  No, I don't.    Jesus said, “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end." (Mt 24:6)  I'm really not too sure how the answer could be more clearly or Biblically answered.  Wars will continue until the end, but they do not mark the end.  The end will come, and when it does nobody is going to be wondering if this is it.
So if the current conflict / war between Israel (a country) and Hezbollah (a Syrian sponsored terrorist organization) isn't the end, what is it?  Frankly it's the unfolding of two peoples without God battling to the death.  It's war – it's ugly and it's hell.
Hezbollah is well known for hiding their troops and their munitions among civilians.  Israel as a country is bombing those munitions and troops to the best of it's ability – but in the process the civilian body count is rising.  Israel has continued to drop leaflets and provide warnings of other varieties to civilians to get out of the way before they get bombed.  It's a compassionate move perhaps but not a very bright one.  If the civilians move, Hezbollah will move with them.
