Shibboleth is finally here!

shibbolethvista.previewA few years ago Logos Bible Software developed an app for their design & editorial department to more easily input the Biblical languages into their databases. This app was called Shibboleth. I remember reading the blog post, seeing the app, & going, “This is something I could really use!”. I’m fairly new to the Biblical languages (& Logos has really allowed me to take off in the learning of them), & any app that would enable me to type more easily in the Biblical languages would be a nice addition to my Bible software. So I emailed Bob & asked him if he’d release Shibboleth to us Logos users. At the time he said no, that it was only for employees of Logos Bible Software. My next stop was the job offering page to see if the design & editorial department had a job opening. Unfortunately, they didn’t. đŸ™‚

Well, recently Logos decided to update Shibboleth under Microsoft’s new .NET Framework 3.0 for Windows XP & Vista. The look & feel of it became incredibly nice & streamlined.

That’s not all! Logos has also finally released this new version of Shibboleth to use users as a free download! I recently downloaded my copy & am really enjoying it! I can easily type in any of the Biblical languages, export to unicode & all of Logos’ fonts, & copy/paste to & from the app easily. I’ve found it a valuable addition to my Libronix library, something I have needed for years.

Give it a free download at http://logos.com/shibboleth today. You’ll see it’s a nice tool for typing in the Biblical languages.
