Give thanks for them, Pray also for Growing Faith and visible love from Christian to Christian in the Schools (elementary to college)
“Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; ” (2 Thessalonians 1:1–3, NAS)
Pray that God will count them worthy of their calling, and will fulfill every desire for goodness in them. Pray that Jesus Christ will be glorified in them according to the grace of God.
“To this end also we pray for you always, that our God will count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus will be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. ” (2 Thessalonians 1:11–12, NAS)
Again, Give thanks for our students and our church family because God has chosen them from the beginning for salvation. Pray that they may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginningfor salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.”(2 Thessalonians 2:13-14)
Pray that They will stand firm in their faith and will hold firm to what they have been taught. Ask God now also to strengthen their hearts in every good work and word.
“So then, brethren, stand firmand hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.” (2 Thessalonians 2:15–17, NAS)
Pray that they will themselves be faithful, and that we also will be faithful in spreading the word of the Lord and that it will spread rapidly. Pray also that others will become like them in faith.
“Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; ” (2 Thessalonians 3:1, NAS)
Pray that they will be rescued in body and in spirit from those who do not have faith. Pray also for their strength and protection from the enemy.
“and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. ” (2 Thessalonians 3:2–3, NAS)
In accordance with 2thes 3:5Pray that God will direct their hearts into te love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.
“May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ. ” (2 Thessalonians 3:5, NAS)
Ask God now to help them to steer clear of mockers but especially those who claim to be Christians but who do not live in accordance to the word of God. Pray also that they will lead disciplined lives in School, at Home, and in church – in their faith in Christ.
“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly lifeand not according to the tradition which you received from us. ” (2 Thessalonians 3:6, NAS)
Pray that they will not grow weary of doing good – especially in the light of so much need right in front of them.
“But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. ” (2 Thessalonians 3:13, NAS)
Finally, ask our God to grant them peace in every circumstance – and to fill them with the assurance of God’s written word being sufficient for their life and faith.
“Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!” (2 Thessalonians 3:16, NAS)
In gratitude for this evening Father we simply ask you now in grace to dwell with us, with your church here and with all the saints together.
