Parenting Counsel Paper for Seminary

Last semester, I had to write a Parenting Counsel Paper for seminary. I have decided to share the full-text of the paper here for anyone who can benefit from it. Parenting Counsel Paper Introduction The family is the foundation to society. James Kennedy stated it best when he said: “As the family goes, so goes the nation”.<note:D. James Kennedy and Jerry Newcombe, What If America Were a Christian Nation Again? (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers, 2003), As the Family Goes.> There is nothing more special than when a husband and wife enter together into the covenant of marriage, then usher into the world children who comprise this newly formed family. Parenting is a joyful and blessed privilege. Yet this privilege also comes with a major responsibility. The responsibility of parents is to train and guide their children to become the next-generation of leaders and participants in society, and ultimately, parents are responsible for shaping the future of a nation and society.

Rejoicing in the Presence and Peace of the Lord (Complete Manuscript)

Sermon Text Philippians 4:4-7 (KJV): Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Scripture Sunday: Psalm 32:8

Psalm 32—Pardon for Sin. •Delight from pardon: “Blessed,” no greater blessing. •Delay to pardon: silence to confess hard on sinner—God’s hand heavy on him •Duty for pardon: confess if you want pardon. •Defiance to pardon: some are like dumb animals and do not seek pardon. –Butler’s Daily Bible Reading
