FDD09 Waiting For God

This entry is part 12 of 27 in the series Fifty Days of Desperation

The unrelenting winter of Central Illinois has no comparison to Noah’s waiting game.

In Genesis six God told Noah he had 120 years to build an ark.  When they finally got in the rain fell for 40 days (Gen 7:12), and the water flooded the earth for 150 days (Gen 7:24).  150 days later they hit ground for the first time. And Noah waited 40 days (Gen 8:6), then another seven days (Gen 8:10), and another 7 days (Gen 8:12). Then another two months and the earth was finally dry.

Only then did God speak to Noah (Gen 8:15).  Waiting on a long journey can feel interminable.  Waiting to start a journey can feel even worse.

As we pray, as we seek, as we ask God to reveal his plans and direction for us it may seem as if waiting for the Lord will never end.  But he will wait until it is time in his eyes, not ours.

Wait on the Lord.

Cry out to Him.

Prepare for action.
