Albert Barnes' Notes on the Old Testament is now available in PBB format!
Dear Logos community,
For your enjoyment, and hopefully spiritual enrichment, we now have the 11 volume set available.
These are 11 separate books that need to be downloaded one at a time. Place them into your Resource folder, where ever that may be. I keep my PBB separated from the others in "My Documents\Libronix Resources" folder. If you use a different folder for your PBB's, ensure the folder path is in the Resources path in LDLS.
Also, since there are 11 books total, I also created a serial resource association file for them. Place this file into your "My Documents\Libronix DLS\ResourceAssociations" folder.
Thanks and God bless!
JoeK
Make sure the resource association file name saves as Barnes_Notes_on_Old_Testament.lbxras. Logos require the .lbxras extension.

Joe!
That's great! Thanks so much for your work on this set. I am certain that I'll see a huge traffic spike on this one today. :-)
THANKS a lot for putting these resources out through PBB!
Many thanks Joe! Well done. The timing is great. We are teaching through Haggai in church. I've been looking to beef up OT commentaries in my library. This is a tremendous addition. Blessings to you and yours. Thank you Thomas for hosting this site and providing this service to the Logos community.
You are all very welcome. Let me know if you find any thing wrong. Any time you write programs to convert data, you never know what bugs show up. God bless in your studies! - Joe
Thanks ever so much for this!
I have been hoping and praying that Logos would get enough interest to publish this and now you have done this!!!!
I noticed that in the downloads that volumes 6 & * were small - is that supposed to be??
Also theresource association is not in a file format, so I am at a loss as to how to copy it.
Major Blessings to you!! - Steve
Hi Steve.
Yes, Volume 6 & 8 are the smallest volumes. If you see something that appears to be incomplete, do not hesitate to let me know.
When saving the res-assoc file, do a right-click and "save as". Place the file into your "My Documents/Libronix DLS/ResourceAssociations" directory. Ensure the file extension is "lbxras". For whatever reason, the file name is "Barnes_Notes_on_Old_Testament.lbxras", but when it wants to save, it renames the extension to "xml". Not sure why. Just change the "xml" to "lbxras" before you click "save". Hope that helps!
God bless!

Joe, I really appreciate, not just your efforts in making this PBB available, but, also your help with questions that have been generated. IOW, you have "hung in there". God Bless
how do i get the pbb format,i have windows xp.
Bob,
The PBB formatted resource was created with Logos Bible Software's Personal Book Builder. In order to use this resource, you must own Logos v3, and have a PBB reader license key. The License key is available to thoese who have purchased a box collection from Logos.
That help?
Joe
how do i get the pbb format.this a new one for me.i can't download these books.
Bob,
When you say you cannot download it, why can't you?
If you have one of the products listed on this webpage:
http://www.logos.com/products/info/comparison
Then, you should be able to read these PBB resources.
To download them, right-click the blue-linked resource name, ie "Volume I". The right-click will bring up a little context menu. Put your mouse on the "Save Target as..." and click it. Place the file into a Logos resource directory. You definitely have at least one Logos resource directory, at "c:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources", that you can place it into. Do the same for all the blue-linked resource names. When you are done, open Libronix. Click on your Library icon, and type "Barnes". You should see the resources you just downloaded.
Hope this helps!
Joe
Thanks your hard work and for making this available!
In Him,
Jim Oliver
Joe, could you make plain text versions of the barnes notes available for download? Thanks very much!
