John's Markups for Logos 4
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
This is a draft utility for importing markup files for Logos 4.0b. It MAY work with other (newer) versions but has only been tested with Version 4.0b SR1. You must be using at least Version 4.0b for this to work.
Start by locating your visualmarkup.db. On a Windows 7 system, it will be found in a directory like:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Logos4\Documents\RANDOMTEXT\VisualMarkup
Where USERNAME is your username, and RANDOMTEXT is a group of random text like "yyyh0liv.wfu".
Make sure Logos 4 is closed.
MAKE A COPY OF VISUALMARKUP.DB AND PUT IT SOMEPLACE SAFE IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG!!!
Copy all the files included in this zip file to the directory where you found visualmarkup.vb.
Double click on addmarkups.bat
Disable your internet connection.
Start Logos 4 in offline mode. Test out highlights. (You should have two new palettes.) Mark sure any markups you have done before are still there. If there are any problems, close Logos 4 and copy your backup back to the original location.
If all is well, close Logos, re-enable your internet connection, and start Logos normally. I hope you find my markups helpful in your study of God's Word.

Thanks for all of your helpful posts about precept and Logos.
I have Logos 4 for Mac. I can't find this markup file anywhere. Does it exist? Any ideas on how to import your markings ?
Thanks again!
I don't have have a Mac at the moment, so can't answer... At some point, I plan to build a permanant "Hack-in-tosh" for testing, but not any time soon... :( Maybe Nathan Parker can help?!? (He is the site Mac expert.) I'll mention this when I talk to him next...
Hey guys,
It's there, but the directory is different on a Mac.
The full directory to it is:
Macintosh HD:Users:MYHOMEFOLDER:Library:Application Support:Logos4:Documents:RANDOMTEXT:VisualMarkup:visualmarkup.db
MYHOMEFOLDER is your user's home folder. In my case, mine is nathanparker. It's the folder that has the little house icon and usually your name on it.
RANDOMTEXT is again, some text gibberish like John mentioned.
Hope that helps!

It does, thanks Nathan!
SQLite is include in Mac OS X, so you won't need my PC version or to download something different.
To get to this program, you can open up a terminal windows (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and then typing the following:
/usr/bin/sqlite3
Not having a Mac in front of me, I have to guess, but I think you want to still unzip all the files except the sqlite3.exe to the directory Nathan mentioned. Then open up a terminal window and cd into that same directory... Now run the commands I put in the BAT file manually. I'll see if I can't upload a Mac version of the ZIP and have Nathan test it in the next few days.
Glad to help! Let me know if they need more help and I'll test it out.
