Merry Christmas Everyone!

Whew! Sorry I haven't posted in a while guys. I hope I don't seem like the dissident church member that only posts on Christmasi and Easter, but I've been so swamped with moving to Georgia back in October, settling in, and now that I'm admin over the WeatherBug Blog, they've been working me over there! I've got plenty of suggestions for posting here, I just need more time to sit down and do it. I know they're becoming almost as rare as gems, and my own personal blog has been almost as bare as Mother Hubbard's cupboard. Maybe one of my New Year's Resolutions should be more blogging. Anyway, here's my Christmas message to all of you!

During the hustle and bustle of this Christmas season, we mustn't forget the true Reason for the Season. It's a gift not wrapped in gold foil, but wrapped in swaddling clothes. A gift not laid under a tree, but laid in a manger and later nailed to a tree. A gift not purchased with silver or gold, but purchased with blood. May we all remember who on this night was born, the precious Lamb of God, the Savior of the World. Here's how the His coming happened:

Jesus’ Birth in Bethlehem
1 Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth.
2 This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.
3 And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city.
4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
5 in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child.
6 While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.

Interview with Accordance's Helen Brown

Hebrewi and Greeki Blog recently hosted a "20 Questions" interview with Accordance Bible Software's Helen Brown. Accordance users have seen here over on the Accordance Forums, as well as probably have conversed with her via email. It's an interesting interview. Click Here to read it.

Well, I Won

Recently I won in one of Logos' Bible Study Magazine contests. Of all the giveaways, I happened to win the free book by Elizabeth George, "Understand Your Blessings in Christ". It does look rather interesting, and I'll look through it and probably pass it onto one of my friend's who's an avid reader, and when she's done with books she likes to place them in her cottage for her guests to read.

Here's the email I got from Ryan Burns just to satisfy your curiosity:

Congratulations!
