James Denney: The Death of Christ

Denny notes at the beginning of his work that "the death of Christ has not the place assigned to it, either in preaching or theology, which it has in the
New Testament." Commenting on 2 Cor. 5:21--"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God"--Denney wrote, "Mysterious and awful as this thought is, it is the key to the whole of the New Testament."
