Scripture Sunday: John 15:13

John 15:8–16:6—Persecution. Some instruction to the disciples about persecution. •Hatred of the world: this includes the certainty of the hatred (if Christ was hated they would be hated); and the cause of the hatred (the world hates those who testify against it—godly teaching does not go over well with the world). •Harm from the world: a bad attitude will be followed by bad actions. Hatred is followed by harm. This harm involves the action of killing (the world will kill many of God’s people) and the attitude in killing (their twisted minds will think they are doing God service to kill these people—Muslims think this way in killing Christians). –Butler’s Daily Bible Reading

Scripture Sunday: Psalm 32:8

Psalm 32—Pardon for Sin. •Delight from pardon: “Blessed,” no greater blessing. •Delay to pardon: silence to confess hard on sinner—God’s hand heavy on him •Duty for pardon: confess if you want pardon. •Defiance to pardon: some are like dumb animals and do not seek pardon. –Butler’s Daily Bible Reading
