Libronix PBB Files
Logos Personal books now link to L3 format PBB (*.lbxoeb) and where available the source files for Logos 4's Personal Books (*.docx).
Logos Bible Software is all about easier Bible study. It consists of a free software engine (the Libronix Digital Library System), addin modules that provide specialized functionality, and collections of electronic books targeted to your needs. The Libronix books on this site were created with the
Personal Book Builder- Standard EditionTo read them you need to have a PBB reading Key. Electronic books built with the PBB will be readable only by users who have a Libronix PBB Reading Key. The reading key is free and is available only to users who own one of the boxed products (e.g. Scholar's Library: Silver, Scholar's Library, Original Languages Library, Leaders Library, Bible Study Library, Christian Home Library, Or The Spanish Library.) This key is included with the Personal Book Builder and has been included in boxed Logos Bible Software collections since the QB release. It is not included in free downloadable viewers. Users who own a boxed product predating the QB release can determine their eligibility for the free reading key and download it
here. (The Private Use Edition is licensed for building books that will only work on the system that built them; the Private Use Edition does not build books for distribution but only for personal use.) See:
http://www.logos.com/support/lbs/readingkeyfor more information.
Installation
I suggest dowloading this directly to your Libronix resource directory which is probably something like:
C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources\
You might even want to create a special subdirectory for the books as I did like this:
C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources\PBB_files\
Having a separate PBB directory will help you keep track as your collection (and ours) grows.
After that point Libronix to that directory by going to:
Tools> Options> General> Resource paths, and make sure your directory is included there.
Give Libronix a few moments to discover your new resources and then access them through your Library.

[...] One of these techies, Thomas Black at stilltruth.com, sent us links to the works of John Owen and Jonathan Edwards. These files work with Logos/Libronix digital Library and are searchable (a Mac version is yet to be released). The Logos/Libronix system is a great and growing resource for searchable Puritan works and many of these resources (like Owen and Edwards) are free because of the generous work of Black and others. Book Request
I am a new user of Libronix. Mostly to date I have used Online Bible and CCEL. I recently purchased the Christian Home Library and have the PBB reader key, but sadly the compiler is a separate purchase. It would appear to be somewhat simple to use John McComb's Builder Builder and CCEL THML files to create new books. In fact I can do that portion of the work. What I am hoping is that there is someone out there who would be willing to do the compilations. The first book that I really want is the Ante-Nicene Fathers (books 1-10). I have downloaded from CCEL and am 1/2 way thru the Builder Builder work. Is there someone that I can provide the files to, or somewhere to post the uncompiled works to get them compiled?
Any help would be appreciated by me and possibly others also.
Thanks.

I never heard of the PBB format before finding this website quite by accident. My sincere appreciate and thanks to all of those putting these writings in PBB format. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to put the Hebrew New Testament located at this website in PBB format http://www.kirjasilta.net/ha-berit/

I had used it to get all the stuff from this site, but I overlooked the stuff from the other sources. I wonder if that's the full listing that the library had though? Can you give me a count of how many books you had from there (if they are discernible from the other ones you have).
Thanks for your help norman, it's much appreciated.
Number of files
I have 58 from them... I also saw Pastor Black's comment here: http://www.stilltruth.com/page/libronix_pbb_files#comment-2683 on the subject...
Got any suggestions?
Joe has put up an incredible array of PBB books but he's not the only one. There are others working with PBB and they might be willing to develop some resources as well. If you have a suggestion for out of copyright books, and preferably even a link to an Etext. Submit them here (as well as to the Logos Newsgroups).
I would suggest using the specific book title as the subject of the message. That way when the book is finally built a link to the relevant download can be included here as well.

Thomas,
ADAM CLARKE'S BIBLE COMMENTARY - http://www.godrules.net/library/clarke/clarke.htm
I am searching for a PBB of Adam Clarke's Commentary referenced in your post above. Do you know if anyone is working on a PBB for this commentary.
If not, this commentary is available in Sword Project format. How hard is to convert this format to PBB? Are there any utilities out there?
Adam Clarke
Sorry Linden,
No one has compiled the Clarke commentaries yet that I'm aware of.
Tools to convert from Sword Project?
Thanks for the update on the Clarke commentaries. Do you know if there are any tools available to convert from the sword Project format to PBB or at least an intermediary format that can be converted to PBB?

Ante-Nicene Fathers
Dear friend in Christ:
No doubt almost two years after your post, this is quite irrelevant, but I still invite you to check out www.e-Sword.net that has MANY helpful Bible resources, most (~95%) for free, including the Ante-Nicene Fathers, and there are others who make modules for it and you can eve make your own, though that's more problematic.
God bless you,
Russ
This site is a treasure of Great Books
I have wanted some of the old theologies from a reformed prospective and Church histories in the Libronix format for ages. I just discovered this site today and have seen many of the collections I have been wanting. Thanks to all who have put so much effort into reproducing these works so we can still benefit from them!!!!

I was just having a little trouble incorporating PBBs into my library and wondering if anyone can help? I copy the PBB to my resources directory but only a few of the PBBs that I have copied there work. For example...Darwin's Origin of Species, and Bro. Lawrence's Practicing the Presence of God incorporate into my library just fine. But when I copied A.B. Simpson's commentaries and some of the works by St. John of the Cross into the resources they won't come up at all. They're nowhere to be found in my library, even when searching by title, or author. Any advice or insight as to why this happens is appreciated. Thanks.

I just recently purchased
I just recently purchased the Personal Book Builder and am taking my first steps (I have no previous HTML experience whatever). There are a lot of questions that have come up, but two which are bothering me particularly at this point:
1. Has someone put together a decent HELP file for Builder Builder or Personal Book Builder?
2. How does one make hyperlinks between a table of contents and the chapters of a PBB book that one is putting together?
I'm grateful for whatever help I can get!

The best I can suggest is using the documentation on John McComb's builder builder website.
Volunteer to prepare manuscripts for Personal Book Builder
I do not own Personal Book Builder. I have however downloaded Builder Builder and would be willing to prep documents using Builder Builder for conversion to the PBB format. I would like to know who I need to make this offer to? I'm sure this method of preparation could increase the number of books presently available.
Report of Resources installed?
Does anyone know how to generate a list of resources that I have that includes both the name of the resource and the unique identifier (guid) of the resource? I know that you can build a collection and that contains the unique id - but it doesn't have the name. I was just wondering if there was an easier way to get it than adding one resource at a time to a collection.
Thanks for any assistance!

Great resources, but how do they measure up to Logos Libronix?
I appreciate all who have made downloading PBBs here possible.
I am a pastor new to Logos and wonder how the PBB Libronix books compare with the functionality of the Logos Libronix books. In other words, what can one do with the Logos works that one cannot do with the PBB works? The reason I ask is that Logos has recently put some great Puritan works on their pre-pub page, many of which I have downloaded as PBBs. I'm trying to determine if the functionality of the Logos resources over their PBB counterparts justifies the fairly pricey cost of the "real McCoys." I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks,
Bill
The Real McCoy
Let's see,
PBBs are free, can be user generated, and cover a lot of material not otherwise available.
LLSs are (usually) indexed and tagged allowing for easier/faster searches, allow user annotations, and are quality checked professionally. They may also include extra useful materials such additional Home pages or MP3 files...
Personally, if I needed an ebook for a class or a study, I would probably buy a copy (if available), but would probably just stick with the free PBB otherwise...
God Bless,
John
listing of resources
I would like to join previous author to ask for some convenient way to see what is in a resource. It is very difficult and not always productive to try to figure out the resources through Libronix itself. Could you provide any help? Thank you.
Listing of PPBs
Is there a way to get a listing of available PBB books on this site? What I'm looking for is a simple listing (with links) categorized by the folders that they end up in when they are automatically downloaded by the updater. There must be a way to get this simple listing, but I can't seem to figure it out.
Thank you,
Dudley
