PBB

I have created a PBBⁱ resource of Jeremiah Burrough's classic, The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment for L3 users. You can download it by clicking the attachment link below.

I love the title of this book, but I am afraid I fall far short of its ideal.

Jeremiah Burroughs was a Puritan preacher who was part of the Westminster Assembly. As part of the Assembly's Independent minority, Burroughs opposed the Presbyterian majority, but did so with grace. Evidently, he was grieved by the divisions between the Calvinistic Episcopalians, Presbyterians and Independents. Richard Baxter later commented if all Episcopalians had been as Archbishop Ussher, all Presbyterians as Stephen Marshall (the great preacher of the Assembly), and Independents as Jeremiah Burroughs, the divisions of the church might soon have been healed.

For Logos users still tied to L3 so that they can read PBBs, I have created a PBB resource of John Flavel's masterful book, Divine Conduct or The Mystery of Providence. You can download it by clicking the attachment link below.

I am adding this to the other PBBs from Flavel parked here at Stilltruth. I was surprised to see that this work was not included already.

If you have not read Divine Conduct, now is a good time to do so as we say goodbye to 2009 and reflect on God's providence in our lives.

For anyone still using L3 I have created a PBBⁱ resource of William M. Ramsay's book The Teaching of Paul in Terms of the Present Day. You can download it by clicking the attachment link below.

This will be the last PBB resource I will make for L3 since L4 is now out and the means for making PBBs for L4 won't be released by Logos until next year. I am hoping that Logos makes a way to easily compile all of the existing PBBs I have made for L3, so that once the new PBB tool is released I can get them ready for L4.
