Fixing Unlock Problems With Logos ND Upgrade

I’ve recently upgraded my Logos Bible Software version 3 to the free ND Upgrade that’s available when you order the upgrade media DVD from Logos. I placed my upgrade over the phone with my favorite salesperson Jared Bryant (if you don’t have a personal Logos sales rep, you do now!) & received an activation key with my upgrade DVD. I installed & activated Logos as usual & everything seem to be going smoothly…

Until I opened My Library. I discovered that neither the NIrV nor the TNIV were unlocked during my upgrade, as they should have been. After posting to the Logos newsgroups someone (I believe it was Dave Hooten) was able to help me get my resources unlocked, & I decided to post the tips from that discussion thread here so if anyone ever has this issue come up, you’ll be able to easily find it.

First of all, make sure your Logos base package qualifies for the unlocked resources. If you own a package such as the Original Languages Library or you live outside the US, chances are you don’t qualify to have these resources unlocked during your upgrade. Clicking this link will give you some more information about determining if your collection qualifies for these unlocks. Since I live in the US (Arkansas to be exact) & own Scholar’s Gold, I definitely qualify for the unlocks. So we move on to Plan B.

Visit the Logos Upgrade Page & enter the email address you used when you registered your copy of Libronix. This is your Libronix ID. You’ll then be taken to a page that shows the ND upgrade for your library collection, showing you the two resources that are included in your upgrade, & you’ll then see an add to cart button. Click this, & after the warning that appears stating it’s placing a CD or DVD item in your cart proceed on. This next step is important. If you already have the proper upgrade DVD & have installed & activated it remove the item for the upgrade CD/DVD that is in the cart. This will not invalidate your order & you’ll be able to effectively process your order after removing it. Then proceed with the normal checkout process, & when you get to the unlock screen click on the unlock & download button. Libronix Update will then run & unlock your resources, but it probably won’t download the TNIV Bible, since that is considered a shippable product. Once Libronix Update has finished, quit it & Launch Libronix. Insert your upgrade CD/DVD into your computer (you may have to try more than one disc if you ordered the CD set) & allow it to discover resources. Once done, either click on the Location Manager link that appears in the popup window or go to Tools>Library Management>Location Manager. It will then finish copying over the proper files, & when completed, you’re set! You can now enjoy these two new resources in your Logos Bible Software now that they are properly unlocked. I would also recommend performing a sync of your licenses once completed to ensure the Logos servers have the latest unlocks updated on their systems.

Disclaimer: that’s not my real email address in the following graphic, so try as you might to email me there, it’ll never come through.

Hope this helps to anyone with this issue!
