God had said it would be 400 years (Genesis 15:13) that the descendants of Jacob (Israel) would be enslaved in Egypt. It was part of God’s plan for His glory; but they still had to endure it.
Knowing God’s plan does not make things easy.
Let that sink in.
Knowing God’s plan does not make things easy.
We are involved in an epic battle stretching across time to rescue men, women, and children from the penalty of the sins they love, as well as the sins they hate. But we carry a word of rescue. “Jesus died so you can be forgiven and find life in Him who rose again.”
This simple message of rescue is the foundation of our hope. In Genesis 15, Abraham received not only the promise of a son, but the promise of captivity, rescue, and redemption.
Lord,
Today make us ready to carry this word of rescue to our city. Imprint it deep into our hearts. Prepare us to boldly explain the good news that Jesus died to save sinners..
Amen.
